Kicking off a new series that will probably be very long (maybe even infinite 😀): Toolbox.
The idea behind this is to quickly introduce a tool I use that has helped (and still helps) me in my work. It could be a web tool, a self-hosted solution, a CLI, software, or whatever else. No overthinking, no 3000-word tutorials, just the essentials to make you want to try it yourself and share my tips.
The concept#
Each entry will follow a simple and effective format:
- A quick intro: what it does, why I’m talking about it, and my personal angle
- A tech sheet: tool type, language, dependencies, alternatives
- Pros and cons: honestly, no fuss
- A quick-start tutorial: 1 to 2 commands to get going
- My take: hands-on feedback and tips
The goal is for each article to be a 3-minute read so you can quickly form your own opinion on the tool.
Who’s it for?#
If you’re a sysadmin, network engineer, DevOps, or simply passionate about IT and homelab, you should find something useful here. The tools covered will be varied: monitoring, automation, networking, security, productivity…
The first tool is coming very soon.
See you soon!
